Training in Serbia "The Basics of the Work of a Gas and Smoke-Divers in a fire"

April 22-26, 2024 the ICDO Regional Training Center in the Republic of Serbia (Nis) conducted the training course “The Basics of the Work of a Gas and Smoke- Divers in a fire” for seven specialists of civil defense structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Mongolian, the Russian Federation, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Cyprus.

The course included basic terms, definitions, guidelines, principles, methods and technologies in the field of search and rescue in a fire.

Participants learned processes of fire development and gas exchange, the duties of a firefighter when performing the task of extinguishing fires, orientation in smoke, rules and methods for conducting thermal assessment with thermal imaging camera and using of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

The sessions were held in not only classes, but also trainees practiced number of simulation exercises at the Firefighter Training Complex “Shturm”, learning to conduct search and rescue operations in a fire. The results of practical sessions showed that for this short period of training all participants improved their skills as gas and smoke protectors.
