From June 3 to 13, 2024, the Seminar on Labor and Work Safety Management for Indonesia, a Work Safety Accident Risk Reduction and Response Capacity Upgrade Project under the Belt and Road Initiative was held successively in China’s Fuzhou of Fujian and Beijing.
The seminar would last for 14 days. 20 officials from the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Indonesia participated in the seminar. The seminar has been designed to help trainees from Indonesia get a better understanding of general requirements and international norms of labor safety management, know well about China's policies and measures on labor safety management and useful experience China collected to ensure work safety. As part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the seminar has been anticipated to promote economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia.

In addition of traditional classroom lectures and seminars on special topics, trainees were specially invited to visit scientific research institute and Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park in Beijing, and have face-to-face exchanges with China’s scholars, entrepreneurs and technical experts.
When visiting the Institute of Urban Safety and Environmental Science of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, Wei Zhiyong, Deputy Director of the Institute, presented the trainees with the progress of occupational disease prevention and noise hazard control in China, titled "Overview of Occupational Diseases in China and Noise Vibration Engineering Control Technology". Wei introduced situations of occupational diseases in China, relevant standards and developments of occupational noise and vibration engineering control technology, and personal protective equipment and testing.
Trainees from Indonesia made in-depth exchanges with experts on types and treatment of pneumoconiosis, new situations of occupational exposure, and relevant standards and norms. Afterwards, they visited the High-standard Laboratory (Beijing) of the National Labor Protection Products Quality Inspection and Test Center.

In Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park, trainees had in-depth exchanges with heads of Beijing Guolian Shixun lnformation Technology, Jiaokong Technology, and Beijing Guoxin Huayuan Technology on issues such as technology enabling work safety and visited the exhibition hall in Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park. During the interactive session, officials from the Indonesian Department of Manpower and Transmigration answered questions Chinese enterprises raised on Indonesia's labor inspection laws and regulations.

Since the establishment of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management in 2023, Work safety accident risk reduction and response capacity upgrade projects under the Belt and Road Initiative have been steadily carried out, and close cooperation implemented with more countries and international organizations has strengthened practical cooperation in disaster prevention, reduction and relief, work safety and emergency rescue, greatly improved emergency management capacity and development of disaster management internationally.
Work Safety Accident Risk Reduction and Response Capacity Upgrade Project under the Belt and Road Initiative and China International Emergency Management Exhibition are important parts of the 14 cooperation measures to be implemented in the "Belt and Road" countries. International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management of China will work hard as a bridge, to coordinate all parties concerned, strengthen international cooperation, and promote continuous development of work safety and emergency management internationally. The 2024 China International Emergency Management Exhibition will be held in November 13 to 15 and more cooperation initiatives, more concrete exchanges, and more fruitful results are expected upon then.
