Red alerts for flooding are in effect for Indre-et-Loire and Vienne departments as of early March 31 following heavy rains in the area. Authorities are warning that rising water levels in the Creuse, Vienne, and Gartempe basins could cause significant flooding in some areas. According to local authorities, around 5,200 people in Chinon could be affected and around 250 emergency personnel have been deployed to assist residents if flooding occurs. In Indre-et-Loire, officials evacuated around 100 people from L'lle-Bouchard late March 30. At least 16 roads in Indre-et-Loire and 10 in Vienne have been cut by floodwaters.
