KABUL, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- One child has lost his life and another sustained injury as an unexploded device left over from past wars went off in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, provincial police spokesman Sayed Tayeb Hamad said Thursday. 

Some children were collecting scraps in Rodat district on Wednesday to support their families, but a toy-like item, which was an unexploded device left over from past wars, exploded, killing one on the spot and injuring another.
