KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Three sisters lost their lives as the roof of their mud house collapsed in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province, the provincial department of information and culture said in a statement on Tuesday. 

According to the statement, the tragedy occurred when the sisters' father was fixing the roof on the outskirts of Police District 6, Kandahar city, the capital of the province. 

Residential houses, mostly in Afghanistan's remote areas, are built from mud, occasionally resulting in severe human casualties and substantial property loss due to collapse.
