Please share your expectations and ideas in view of bilateral cooperation on disaster control and emergency management between Algeria and China. We’d like to share your comments on BRIDRREM as well.

Ambassador:

China provided Algeria with 10 stations to monitor earthquakes between 2007 and 2009. 

Many of our engineers were trained in China in this seismic sector. Also in 2018, China provided Algeria signed a memorandum of understanding emphasizing exchange of experiences and issues related to disaster risk prevention and emergency management. By the way, cooperation between Algeria and China in disaster risk prevention and emergency management is long enough and I just mentioned two or three examples of such cooperation. Both countries are keeping exchanges of experiences up until now.

China provided Algeria remain in exchange of information and solidarity when the other party is struck by any disaster. I think cooperation between both countries in this field is promising. We highly appreciate all support from China. And we are very happy that this year we are going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by H.E. President Xi Jinping.

To heighten the awareness of people around the world and international community to fight against disasters, more cooperation should be carried out in whatever aspect relating to emergency management and prevention of disaster risks.
