On November 7, the Ministry of Emergency Management held the Sub-Forum on Work Safety of the 2025 Belt and Road Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management in Sanya, Hainan Province.
Song Yuanming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management, attended the event and delivered a speech. Chang-Hee Lee, Director of the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia, addressed the meeting via video link. Wang Guofa and Wang Yunmin, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended and delivered keynote reports.
Song Yuanming noted that the Chinese government attaches great importance to work safety. In recent years, China has consistently coordinated development and security, organized fundamental campaigns to enhance work safety, advanced science and technology empowerment for safety, established a standardized management system for work safety, built a “people’s defense line” for enterprise safety, and carried out public awareness and education programs. These efforts have led to continuous improvement in the overall work safety situation, exploring a modern path of work safety governance with Chinese characteristics.
He expressed hope that the conference would serve as an opportunity to strengthen policy and institutional exchanges on work safety, carry out training programs and joint emergency rescue drills, and share the latest achievements in safety science, technology and equipment, thereby contributing wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Participants spoke highly of China’s achievements in work safety, expressing willingness to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in this field and jointly enhance work safety capabilities.
Experts, scholars, and representatives from various countries, regions, and enterprises held in-depth discussions on technological innovation and cross-border collaboration in the field of work safety.
