
Wang Xiangxi said that Singapore and China are friendly neighbors and important partners. In recent years, cooperation on emergency management between the two countries has been continuously strengthened. Exchange activities of risk and disaster management have been carried out many times. All these moves have laid a solid foundation for expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.
China is willing to broaden consensus with Singapore and actively promote the signing of memorandums of understanding on cooperation. We will enhance talent exchanges and technological cooperation, share experience and best practice in areas such as monitoring and early warning of natural disasters, prevention of safety risks in key industries and fields, as well as application of new emergency rescue equipment, technologies, materials and tactics. We will deepen exchanges and mutual learning, and continuously promote cooperation on emergency management between China and Singapore in a deep and practical way.
Edwin Tong spoke highly of the achievements China made in efforts of emergency management. He said that Singapore is willing to closely collaborate with China, deepen exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as construction of disaster prevention, mitigation and relief systems, and emergency preparedness and handling. Singapore is willing to expand broader cooperation space with China and promote cooperation on emergency management between the two countries to a new level.
Xu Jia’ai, Vice Minister of MEM and Peter Tan, Singapore’s Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
