On June 24, 2025, the Capacity Building Seminar on Enterprise Safe and Sustainable Development for Belt and Road Countries was held in Beijing. Yin Mingyu, Deputy Director General, International Exchange and Cooperation Center (IECC) of the Ministry of Emergency Management of China, attended the opening ceremony, together with 33 participants from 4 countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In her speech, Yin Mingyu pointed out that since its proposal, the Belt and Road Initiative has received active response from the Belt and Road countries. With solid and fruitful multilateral and bilateral cooperation on emergency management, China has established cooperative relationships with more than 30 international and regional organizations as well as emergency management departments from 90-odd countries and regions. China has positively shared experiences and tided over difficulties together with all countries in areas such as work safety, disaster prevention and mitigation and emergency rescue.
With rich and diversified arrangement, the seminar will introduce management modes and development levels in the fields of work safety, emergency management, and personal protective equipment from multiple perspectives, aiming to enhance the capacity of enterprise safe and sustainable development in countries such as Kazakhstan.
Representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan delivered speeches respectively on behalf of participants. They thanked the Chinese government and the Ministry of Emergency Management for providing such valuable learning and exchange opportunity and said that all governments attach great importance to the Belt and Road Initiative and hope to enhance political, economic and cultural ties with China, learn and draw on China's experience in emergency management and enterprise safety management. During the seminar, they hope to learn more about enterprise safety management and sustainable development and enhance the well-being of people in all countries. Finally, they wished the seminar a complete success.
With a duration of 14 days, the seminar will take a three-in-one teaching method, integrating expert lectures with case discussions and on-site teaching. IECC will invite experts and scholars from China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Institute of Urban Safety and Environmental Science of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and Beihang University to give special lectures and carry out discussions and exchanges. Participants will take on-site visits to Beijing and Yantai of Shandong in east China.
The seminar is not only an important move to implement the outcomes of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, but also another significant practice of international cooperation with Belt and Road countries. The seminar is expected to play a positive role in improving the standard of enterprise safe and sustainable development in various countries, making the Belt and Road Initiative a new engine for global economic growth.
